Fireproof Your Marriage-Overcoming Pornography

[postlink]https://celebratemarriage365.blogspot.com/2010/05/fireproof-your-marriage-overcoming.html[/postlink]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raqnn78drqMendofvid [starttext] Fireproof your marriage. This video explores addictions such as pornography that destroy marriages. If you haven't seen the movie, I encourage you to do so. This explore pornography from a male standpoint and how it effects women, however, pornography addiction is an issue that women suffer with in silence.

I am speaking of this from experience. I entered into this world during a previous relationship where I felt undesirable and in order to "remain faithful" to my husband at the time, I turned to pornography. It isn't a secret that I have been married two times, and I thank that Lord that he has blessed me with a man that loves me for me, that goes out of his way to make me feel beautiful. But there was a point in our marriage when I didn't desire intimacy.

It would be very easy for me to place blame elsewhere. I remember praying and asking God to help me desire sex with my husband, and then He let me know that it was because of this addiction...this secret I'd been harboring that was hindering my love life.

It wasn't that I didn't desire my husband, or that I wanted to be with the people on the screen. It wasn't that I replayed the images in my mind during our intimate times. The issue was that Pornography is wrong. Seeing the images made me numb to the beauty and sanctity of the marriage bed.

After a great deal of fear and anxiety, I decided to open to my husband about this. He was so loving and kind. He didn't make me feel ashamed about myself. I made a vow to him to discontinue this part of my life, and he vowed to hold me up in his prayers.

Bouncing back wasn't easy, it took work, but our love life shifted IMMEDIATELY! Ladies if you truly want to love your SAVED husband, and you find yourself battling with this addiction, understand that you are not by yourself, and that God can truly help you overcome this, if you want it.

Thanks for posting my video. I wrot ethe book in response to situation I saw all around me. I saw women and men struggling because they didn't know change is not a negative thing. When we are open to taking ourselves from one level to the next, we take our power back, chains are broken, and positive things begin to happen in our lives
